Bristol Palin’s Breasts: What Can She Expect?
We have had an enormous amount of requests for information about former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin’s daughter Bristol Palin and her growing boobs. The highly publicized photos of her are capturing the curiosity of men and women around the world.

By popular demand, we decided to review breast growth during pregnancy and what Bristol Palin will expect as her pregnancy progresses. Pregnant women face many challenges. They must purchase nursing bras, rethink clothing styles and deal with breast pain.
Bristol Palin will experience the following:
- Starting at around 8 weeks, her breasts will begin to get bigger, and they’ll continue to grow throughout the pregnancy.
- Her mammary glands will cause her breasts to swell and become tender in preparation for breastfeeding. This is due to an increased amount of the hormones estrogen and progesterone.
- As everyone can see in the recent pictures of her, Bristol Palin’s breasts will grow a minimum of 1-2 cup sizes.
- Her breasts may feel itchy as the skin stretches and she may even develop stretch marks on them.
- Around third month of pregnancy, Bristol Palin’s breasts will start producing colostrum, the special milk the baby will get when Bristol Palin first starts nursing.
- Her areolas (the pigmented areas around each breast’s nipple) will enlarge, darken and may become covered with small, white bumps called Montgomery’s tubercles (enlarged sweat glands that look like large goose bumps).
- She will also experience an increase in sensitivity in her breasts, but they should not remain tender to touch past the third or fourth month.
- In some women a network of bluish lines appears under the skin as blood supply to the breasts increases.
One of our readers wrote to us about her breasts swelling when she was pregnant with her baby girl Madison. All of her friends told her that her breasts would return to their normal size after the birth. This never happened and a year later she is two cup sizes larger than before her pregnancy.
“She will need to purchase supportive bras that will minimize the stretching and sagging of her breast tissue.”
Bristol Palin’s breasts may return to their normal size or they may stay as large as she looks in recent photos.

One thing she went through that I did was that the organs will further compress and be pushed up against her diaphragm as her child grows. In some women this may cause an increase in heartburn or shortness of breath. This is one of the reasons pregnant women need to sit down so often.
I never understood why the areolas darken in color. To stand out more against pale skin to help guide the baby to the milk source?
I have heard that many physicians believe the breasts are not fully mature until a woman has given birth and produced milk but I don’t know if this is true with teenage girls. Breast changes are one of the earliest signs of pregnancy – by the fifth or sixth month of pregnancy, the breasts are fully capable of producing milk.
Listen, those were not pregnant breasts, she was clearly a nursing mother who was being stopped from feeding her child! When you do that, the breasts swell with milk and it is very painful. Palin had to take her on the road to feed the kid that wasn’t hers, and then when it became apparent that she was the mom, they decided to stop her, and voila! Giant boobs practically in her face, trying to cover up the fact that Sarah wasn’t feeding anybody with those tiny breasts. Her schedule was never remarked upon, or cramped, why? because she was not the feeding mom.
Such a shame that this charade was carried out in clear view and no one who has breast fed, was allowed to comment on what was right out in front of our eyes. Like the emperors new clothes—politics is an ugly business, but it should not be used to scare young women, who might think their breasts are going to look like Bristols’ during their pregnancy. Only if they were huge sized young women to begin with would anyone experience that kind of size jump.
Even during your breast feeding you only look like that, IF you are swollen and are not keeping to a feeding schedule or are binding off your breassts in an attempt to shut down your mammary glands rather suddenly. I had that experience, when my father in law had cancer and my dghter was 8 months old, and I needed to be able to go to the hospital more. Other than that, even with DDD cups I never looked like Bristol, and it’s a disservice to let new moms or those expecting to beleive that was merely pregnancy related.

And whats wrong if they did? Bristols boobs looked great. Being big and round is a good thing. I don’t think girls were scared by how she looked. Girls should be scared by having a KID at that age. Thats the real problem. Lots of responsibility. Not every American family has millionaire parents like Bristol.
Well Kim is right that when breasts swell with milk it is very painful. Engorgement is no fun. I had my first and only child when I was 19 – 23 now – and my milk production was tremendous. My busy work schedule didn’t give me enough time to pump my breasts and the swelling at night was very very painful. My daughter drank and drank but the milk kept coming.
They broke up not too long ago. Both single parents now. Seems like a fake relationship because of the election. Course everyone saw this coming so I guess it is no surprise.
